Hi there! I’m Lorelle, the founder of Wildcat Translations

**About me**
My name is Lorelle, and I graduated from the **Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies** program at Monash University in 2016 (Melbourne, Australia). My thesis focused on my own translation of an extract of author Hiroshi Ogiwara’s *Ashita no Kioku* (明日の記憶: Memories of Tomorrow) and the translation of style in literature, for which I achieved a high distinction.
I have been a **full-time technical translator** since 2016, specialising in **patents** and **life sciences**.
I achieved **NAATI certification** as a **Japanese into English** **translator** in 2017, and I am a current member of the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT) and the Japan Association of Translators (JAT). In 2022, my business continued to grow and I began operating under the name ‘Wildcat Translations’ and started collaborating with trusted colleagues on projects.

Anecdotally, I am also a descendant of Asajiro Noda, said to be the first Japanese person to settle in New Zealand.
Outside of my work as a Japanese translator, I have diverse interests. I enjoy visiting cafes and wineries, spending time with my beloved cat Squid, snowboarding and analogue photography.

I personally handle most translation tasks, but I also directly collaborate with a team of highly-skilled translators, editors, and QA checkers. This means we are fully equipped to handle any project, and work with one another to achieve the best possible translation product. Additionally, we are experienced in using computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools such as Trados and Phrase.
